Transport Specialist (Control Tower)

Purpose of the Role:
The Control Tower Specialist is responsible for the completion of truck requirements across all Distribution Centers and Platforms from booking, assignment, and deployment. The role is accountable for end-to-end truck status monitoring, including truck arrival, dispatch, delivery, and POD return. The incumbent serves as the focal point between operations and transport vendor partners to ensure timely resolution of operational issues while maximizing truck utilization and minimizing idle days.
What You'll Do:
- Consolidate truck booking requirements from Transport Planners across multiple Distribution Centers and Platforms and coordinate truck assignments with vendor partners.
- Ensure proper truck deployment, call time scheduling, and prioritization of truck utilization based on business requirements and established allocation hierarchy.
- Monitor actual truck arrivals against scheduled call times and escalate deviations or delays that may impact operations.
- Coordinate with Transport Planners, operations teams, and transport vendors to address loading concerns and deployment issues.
- Verify that all assigned trucks comply with pre-loading and operational requirements prior to dispatch.
- Monitor truck dispatch, delivery progress, and POD return status, ensuring timely and accurate updates throughout the transportation cycle.
- Provide regular truck status updates to Customer Service and other stakeholders based on established reporting schedules.
- Coordinate issue resolution with internal teams, customers, and transport partners for delivery delays, POD concerns, slow loading incidents, and other transportation-related challenges.
- Monitor locked-in truck utilization and recommend actions to maximize asset productivity and eliminate idle days.
- Prepare transportation reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with company policies, GSDP requirements, and transport operational standards.
What will make you successful:
Must-Have:
- College Graduate, preferably BS Industrial Engineering.
- Knowledgeable in the Philippine Transport Network.
- In-depth familiarity with Philippine transport rules and regulations.
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain operations, or distribution management.
Advantage to Have:
- Experience in a Control Tower, Transportation Planning, or Distribution environment.
- Experience coordinating with transport vendors and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Knowledge of truck utilization planning, fleet management, and transportation monitoring.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management or tracking systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with warehouse and distribution center operations.
- Knowledge of GSDP and healthcare distribution compliance requirements.
