The company was started a hundred years ago and has grown to become a multibillion-dollar business covering 17 markets with over 12,000 employees. Our people serve more than 200,000 medical facilities and work with over 450 clients, including the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in the world.
Purpose of The Role:
The Production Supervisor oversees the daily execution of pharmaceutical secondary packaging, rebelling, and redressing operations. The primary focus of this role is to:
- Drive Operational Efficiency: Optimize repackaging line productivity, throughput, changeover time, and resource allocation to consistently meet commercial schedules and demand targets.
- Incident-Free Operations: Ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards with zero major or critical quality deviations, regulatory non-conformances, cross-contamination, or workplace safety incidents.
- Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Safeguard full compliance with company SOPs, Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and Good Storage and Distribution Practice (GSDP).
What You’ll Do:
A. Production Planning & Schedule Execution
- Develop, monitor, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly redressing/repackaging plans in alignment with commercial demand, inventory staging, and shipment arrival schedules.
- Coordinate with supply chain team and warehouse operations to ensure timely staging for redressing, and secondary packaging materials (cartons, leaflets, labels, tamper-evident seals).
- Supervise line clearance, batch set-up, in-process control (IPC), and changeover procedures to minimize downtime and prevent product mix-ups.
- Track daily output targets vs. actual throughput, analyzing root causes for variances and implementing prompt corrective measures.
B. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Directly supervise, train, and manage redressing leads, staff, and temporary contract workers if any.
- Establish work schedules, shift rotations, and overtime plans to balance operational demand and labor costs.
- Monitor redressing staff productivity, attendance, and adherence to cleanroom/redressing area hygiene, gowning, and behavior standards.
- Conduct regular on-the-job training on standard operating procedures (SOPs), line operation techniques, and defect identification.
C. Repackaging Material & Inventory Control
- Manage inventory levels of packaging components (inserts, labels, stickers, adhesives) to avoid line stoppages.
- Oversee material staging, issuance between warehouse storage and the packaging area.
- Conduct rigorous batch material reconciliation; calculate yield, waste rates, and investigate discrepancies between issued and returned components.
- Ensure immediate isolation, quarantine, and authorized disposal/scrapping of rejected, obsolete, or defective packaging materials.
D. Quality, SOP & GMP / GSDP Compliance
- Enforce rigorous compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs), national health authority guidelines, cGMP, and GSDP standards.
- Ensure all Repackaging Batch Records (RBRs), room and equipment logbooks, cleaning logs, and inspection sheets are completed accurately in real time.
- Immediately investigate, document, and report any quality deviations, out-of-specification events, or potential contamination risks.
- Partner with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to execute Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and drive continuous quality audits.
- Ensure zero critical or major findings during internal quality assessments, client/principal audits, or statutory regulatory inspections.
What Will Make You Successful:
- Throughput vs. Compliance Friction: Managing urgent client sales deadlines and high targets without cutting corners on line clearance, batch records, or cGMP/GSDP controls.
- Variable Workforce & Quality Control: Supervising fluctuating temporary and contract workers, where high turnover demands continuous onboarding and rigorous vigilance against operator errors
- Strict Material Reconciliation: Accounting for every single serialized label, leaflet, stickers—where even tiny unit discrepancies halt releases and require formal deviation investigations.
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in secondary packaging, production supervision, or warehouse redressing operations within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or FMCG healthcare industry
- At least 2 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience managing production/line workers.
Advantage to Have:
- Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and frontline workforce motivation skills.
- High attention to detail with an uncompromising focus on quality and safety.
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and time-management capabilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in both English and the local language.
