Senior Engineer, Core Warehouse (EWM)

Purpose of the Role:
Key hands-on functional expert responsible for configuring SAP EWM system. Will translate daily operational needs into robust system configurations, troubleshoot real-time interface and queue issues (SIQ), and execute validation testing.
This role is execution-focused, supporting the Principal and Senior Principal Engineers in delivering stable, compliant, and efficient warehouse operations.
What You’ll Do:
System Configuration & Execution:
- Perform hands-on configuration of core SAP EWM functional modules, including Inbound Processing, Quality Inspection Engine (QIE), Outbound Wave Management, Picking/Packing, and Internal Warehouse Movements (Replenishment, Physical Inventory).
Daily Queue Management & SIQ Triage:
- Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve daily transactional bottlenecks, including Stuck-in-Queue (SIQ) errors, qRFC/tRFC failures, and IDoc/EDI processing issues.
- Partner with the product teams, business operations and technical ABAP teams to resolve stuck in queues or SIQ.
Functional Documentation & Business Analysis:
- Conduct business process mapping and draft clear, detailed Functional Specifications (FS) for custom developments, enhancements, and reports.
- Collaborate with business key users to understand operational challenges and suggest standard SAP EWM solutions to minimize customization.
CSV, Testing & Audit Compliance:
- Participate in formal change control processes (CCR), ensuring all system changes are thoroughly assessed, tested, and documented.
User Training & Support:
- Develop training materials and deliver hands-on system training to key users and warehouse operators.
- Provide reliable Tier-2/3 production support, performing root cause analysis on system incidents.
What will make you successful:
Must-Have:
- Configuration skills in SAP EWM Inbound, Outbound, and Internal.
- Practical, hands-on experience troubleshooting qRFCs and SIQ queues.
- Demonstrated experience in writing Functional Specifications and executing structured test scripts.
Advantage to Have:
- Basic ABAP Debugging: Ability to navigate ABAP code, set breakpoints, and analyze system dumps to assist developers in troubleshooting.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated distribution environments.
