Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead (ABAP & Integration) to lead the design, development, integration, and governance of SAP technical solutions across our enterprise landscape. 

This role will serve as the technical authority for SAP development and integrations, ensuring that business-critical systems supporting business, operations, logistics, regulatory compliance, and regional business processes operate securely, efficiently, and reliably. 

The successful candidate will combine deep SAP ABAP expertise with leadership capabilities, integration architecture knowledge, and a solid understanding of IT governance, change management, and enterprise system delivery

What You’ll Do:

SAP Technical Leadership 

• Lead SAP ABAP development activities across SAP ECC preferable S/4HANA environments. 

• Define and enforce SAP development standards, coding practices, and technical governance. 

• Review, approve, and guide technical designs to ensure scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions. 

• Mentor internal developers and external support partners to continuously improve technical capabilities. 

SAP Development & Solution Delivery 

• Design, develop, and support SAP enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, and workflows (RICEF objects). 

• Deliver solutions using ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, OData Services, APIs, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, User Exits, BADIs, and enhancement frameworks. 

• Develop technical specifications and support end-to-end project execution from design through deployment. 
• Ensure alignment with SAP best practices and S/4HANA Clean Core principles. 

Enterprise Integration Management 

• Lead integrations between SAP and:  

• Surrounding , Third-Party Applications and Cloud Solutions 

• Design secure, scalable, and reliable API-based integrations. 

• Support integration technologies including SAP CPI, SAP PI/PO, Integration Suite, middleware platforms, and REST/SOAP services. 

• Establish monitoring, error handling, and performance optimization standards for enterprise integrations. 

SAP Performance & Optimization 

• Analyze and improve system performance through SQL optimization, runtime analysis, ATC, Code Inspector, and HANA best practices. 

• Optimize interfaces, background jobs, reports, and large-volume transaction processing. 

• Ensure system scalability to support business growth and operational efficiency. 

Change Management & Governance 

• Manage SAP transport and deployment activities in accordance with SDLC and IT General Control (ITGC) requirements. 

• Participate in release governance, peer reviews, and quality assurance processes. 

• Ensure compliance with Segregation of Duties (SoD), audit requirements, and change management standards. 

• Maintain complete technical documentation and traceability for all changes. 

Production Support & Incident Management 

• Serve as the highest technical escalation point for complex SAP production issues. 

• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical incidents. 

• Drive preventive improvements to enhance application stability and reduce recurring issues. 

• Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to operations. 

Vendor & Stakeholder Management 

• Manage relationships with SAP implementation partners, AMS providers, and external consultants. 

• Review technical deliverables, monitor service quality, and ensure SLA compliance. 

• Partner closely with business, functional consultants, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and audit teams. 

Compliance & Regulatory Support 

• Support compliance with:  

• Good Distribution Practice (GDP) 

• Good Practice (GxP) environments 

• Computerized System Validation (CSV) 

• 21 CFR Part 11 requirements 

• Internal and External Audit requirements 

• Support remediation and corrective action initiatives arising from audit observations. 

What Will Make You Successful:

Must-Have:

Education 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field. 

Experience 

• Minimum 8 years of SAP ABAP development experience. 

• Minimum 3 years leading SAP technical teams, projects, or development workstreams. 

• Proven experience in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments. 

• Experience managing SAP integrations with enterprise applications and third-party platforms. 

• Proven involvement in full project lifecycles, enhancements, support engagements, upgrades, or transformation programs.

• Experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device Distribution, or Supply Chain industries. 

• Knowledge of GxP, GDP, CSV, and 21 CFR Part 11. 

• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). 

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori and UI5 technologies. 

• Experience supporting S/4HANA migration or transformation projects. 

• Having knowledge of Scrum, Agile, or Project Management.
