Health Safety & Security (HSS) Supervisor

Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company’s Health, Safety, Security (HSS) management systems, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal requirements and prescribed international management system standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001). The role will also oversee and manage aspects of operational security, ensuring compliance with the Transported Asset Protection Association’s (TAPA) Facility Security Requirements (FSR) and annual renewal/recertification processes. Through structured system management, on-site audits, and competency-based training, this position supports the development of a robust safety culture, mitigates occupational health and safety risks, and ensures the protection and wellbeing of personnel, facilities, and business operations.
What You’ll Do :
- HSS Management System Maintenance and Improvement
- Maintain and manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems to ensure effective operation and compliance with audit requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and monitor the performance of the HSS management system, driving ongoing improvement to enhance overall organizational performance.
- On-site Occupational Health & Safety Management and Risk Control
- Responsible for occupational health and safety management of the on-site working environment, including safety inspections and special safety audits.
- Reduce workplace incidents through hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA), and continuously improve processes to minimize potential harm to personnel.
- Track and follow up on identified safety and health deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Safety Culture Promotion and Training
- Plan and implement HSS training programs, safety awareness campaigns, and emergency drills to enhance employees’ safety awareness and professional competencies.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the organization, ensuring all employees understand and comply with safety regulations and operating procedures.
- Audit and Regulatory Compliance
- Plan and conduct internal and external HSS audits, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all HSS-related operations and documentation comply with internal SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements.
- TAPA and Facility Security Management
- Responsible for the maintenance, system management of TAPA FSR (Facility Security Requirements)
- Ensure that plant facilities and the working environment comply with TAPA standards and requirements.
- Ensure annual renewal/recertification of applicable TAPA FSR certificates is conducted.
- Reporting and Data Management
- Maintain and consolidate data required for regional / headquarters HSS reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information.
- Manage documentation and data related to the Toxic and Concern Chemical Substances Joint Prevention Organization System.
- Cross-functional Communication and Document Control
- Ensure all HSS-related information complies with SOP requirements.
- Coordinate with and follow up on relevant departments to ensure completion and submission of required documents and reports within specified timelines.
Must-Have:
- Must hold a Class A Occupational Safety Management Technician Certificate or Class A Occupational Health Management Technician Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety–related roles
- Experience in ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 internal auditing or management.
- This position requires collaboration with regional teams in other countries; proficiency in English (reading, speaking, and writing), with the ability to conduct presentations and meetings in English, is preferred.
